Is Schooling Equitable? I just want to start this off by saying that this was my favorite module, I really learned a lot and absolutely loved the TedTalks. The topic over examining disparities in education and systemic racism was amazing. This is a very important topic to talk about that isn't addressed enough. Is schooling equitable; the answer is no it's absolutely not. This goes along with our past module about not getting the full picture. In the TedTalk by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie she said that her discovery of African writers saved her from having a single story of what books are. This is a good example of why in schools everywhere we should educate our students in a culturally sensitive way about other cultures and perspectives. Another thing that stood out to me in her TedTalk was "how to create a single story, show a people as one thing, as only one thing, over and over again and that is how they become."
